New Student Orientation and Academic Programs

The video starts with me asking, "Why should someone choose Kapi‘olani Community College?"  The unfiltered, heart felt response of "its the most awesome college ever!" is actually something most KCC employees believe is the truth.  As a product of KCC, I do believe it is one of the best colleges out there.

We try our very best to make sure the transition into Kapi‘olani Community College is a smooth one. The New Student Orientation strives to make every new student feel they all have a place to succeed on this campus.

Students can also expect that same level of commitment from our Academic Programs.  The campus wants to help students make informed decisions about their academic goals and career aspirations.  Below are some examples of the types of services provided to the students of KCC.

Culinary Arts
Health Sciences Non-Credit Programs
Health Sciences Credit Programs
Nursing

Enjoy!

  1. At about 12:35 in the NSO video, the advice given is to take as much math as possible, not just 2 years of math that is required. Just a reminder that All high school students must take 3 math courses to graduate.

    1. Thank you for the update. I believe they were nervous and meant to say Algebra II. Ideally we would like students to take math through their senior year. I remember having a discussion with a UH Manoa math faculty and shared the same concerns. Thanks so much for view the on-line Counselors Workshop. I hope it has been helpful so far.
